Above and Beyond – 70 Years of Land Rover
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the production of the first Land Rover. To celebrate the outstanding achievements in engineering and design innovation, the British car manufacturer are opening a special showroom in Ginza, Tokyo from June 30 to September 24.
Land Rover are renowned as a company with a strong British heritage, woven deep into their brand’s fabric; yet these are vehicles which have always been destined to conquer the world, becoming a symbol for off-road, recreation and adventure. With a wild reputation for handling almost any condition and terrain – mud, snow, desserts, jungles, mountains – the manufacturer’s moto, “Above and Beyond” could not ring any truer.
The Ginza showroom depicts Land Rover through the ages, from appearing in 9 Bond movies; starting with Roger Moore’s high time escape in OCTOPUSSY (1983), to recent innovations, including the electrification of the Range Rover series. The studio also displays top-tier models, including vehicles from the “RANGE ROVER SPORT SVR” series.
There is a cafe serving original drinks representing the world view of the brand, and a shop selling exclusive Jaguar Land Rover goods.
