With preparations well underway and excitement heating up for the British Business Awards 2023, the BCCJ is pleased to announce Standard Chartered Bank as a Bronze Sponsor.

Standard Chartered are a leading international banking group, with a presence in 53 of the world’s most dynamic markets, and serving clients in a further 85. Their purpose is to drive commerce and prosperity through unique diversity, and heritage and values are expressed in their brand promise, Here for Good. First starting operations in Japan as the former Chartered Bank, Standard Chartered opened a representative office in Yokohama in 1880, and marked its 140th anniversary year in 2020.

Today, they remain a strong supporter of the BCCJ, as well as the wider UK-Japan relationship. Most notably they were a principal sponsor of the “UK in Japan” campaign organised by the British Embassy Tokyo, British Consulate-General and British Council in 2020, as well as last year’s British Business Awards 2022.

A note from Yusuke Asai, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank Japan:

“We are very honoured to be a Bronze Sponsor for the British Business Awards 2023. Leveraging our global footprint in business, we believe generating and nurturing innovative ideas will keep our society sustainable. We look forward to continuing to be a partner to make a difference in society.”
