Remi Kawakami

Hello everyone! 

My name is Remi Kawakami, and I am a third-year student at Showa Women’s University, majoring in English Communication. I currently live in Kanagawa, but my roots are in Fukuoka.

At university, I mainly study how Japanese students learn English, as well as intercultural understanding and media. Throughout my university life, I have challenged myself through various experiences, including studying abroad in Sydney, participating in a community revitalisation project in Arita, Saga, and now joining the BCCJ internship.

I find great fulfilment in thinking about how I can help others. To me, English is more than just a language. It is a tool that connects people across different nationalities and cultures and allows me to expand what I can do for others.

In my free time, I enjoy playing the trumpet, which I have played in a school brass band since high school. I also enjoy watching baseball and basketball.

In the future, I hope to work in a role that connects people and businesses across different countries and cultures. I want to continue learning English, connect with people from diverse backgrounds, and discover new ways to contribute to others.

Through my experience at BCCJ, I hope to meet and learn from people with diverse backgrounds and gain a deeper understanding of international business. Although I am still developing my English skills, I want to embrace the challenge, communicate actively, and learn as much as I can. Please feel free to say hello and have a chat with me!
