Excitement is building for the Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2019 as the national teams arrived in cities across Japan this week to an exceedingly warm welcome. The high interest in Asia’s first RWC is also reflected in the uptake of travel and hospitality packages, with sales to date exceeding expectations, according to RWC exclusive official hospitality and supporter tour provider STH Japan.

With two weeks to go until the kick-off of the Rugby World Cup (RWC) 2019, Welsh Government representatives to Japan are ramping up their efforts to build ties between Wales and Japan during the six-week global sporting event.

Officially announced in January of this year by Prime Minister Abe during his visit to the UK, the UK in Japan 2019-20 campaign is launching this month with the start of the Rugby World Cup, running through the Olympic Games and ending next September 2020 with the Paralympic Games.
