Two Decades and Three Years: A Continuing Legacy at Honyaku Plus

The British Chamber of Commerce in Japan is delighted to announce BCCJ member Honyaku Plus celebrated their 23rd year anniversary on the 11 March 2026. 

Honyaku Plus was established in Tokyo on 11 March 2003. Initially, Honyaku Plus solely operated as a Japanese to English translation company, but soon diversified into Japanese to English interpreting. With the success of scaling their business, Honyaku Plus now offers comprehensive translation and interpreting for an array of language pairs.

Since their founding, they have provided language services to over 800 different clients, ranging from private individuals to household-name multinational corporations, such as Yamaha Music, HSBC, Panasonic, Bosch, AWS Japan, FIFA, Google Japan, Meta, Toyota, Adidas, Nikon, BMW, the Nakasone Peace Institute, Leonardo, Mizuho Securities, Lockheed Martin, Sony, Gucci and Dentsu.

On the interpreting side, recent clients have included sprinting legend Usain Bolt, world boxing champion Naoya Inoue, Governor Koike of Tokyo (on multiple occasions), Google Japan, Meta, Lockheed Martin, the Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the CCI France Japon and the FIFA Executive Committee.

They are particularly proud to be the official provider of interpreting services to the BCCJ.

Honyaku Plus prides itself on expertise across a wide range of disciplines, including law, finance, IT, medicine, science, technology, international relations, HR and sport.

There have been many twists and bumps in the road, such as the Global Financial Crisis of 2008, the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami of 2011, the Coronavirus Pandemic and the rise of AI machine translation, yet they remain stalwart in their mission.

Through each challenge, they have remained resilient, continuing to deliver the highest standards of service to their clients.
