Robert Walters Japan has been part of the BCCJ community for many years, supporting the Chamber, contributing its expertise and consistently standing behind the British Business Awards as the event has grown and evolved.
This year, we are delighted to welcome Robert Walters Japan as a Diamond Partner of the British Business Awards 2026, The Nineteenth Evening, marking another chapter in a longstanding relationship with both the BCCJ and the BBA.
Founded in London in 1985, Robert Walters established its Tokyo office in 2000, followed by Osaka in 2007. Last year, the Japan business celebrated its 25th anniversary, reflecting more than a quarter century spent connecting organisations with the people who help them grow, transform and navigate an increasingly complex market.
Japan has since become one of the most important markets within the Robert Walters global network and today stands as the Group’s largest specialist recruitment market. Its work spans many of the industries central to the Japanese economy, including technology, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, automotive, legal, sales and marketing.
That work is also evolving. Robert Walters increasingly speaks of ‘total talent thinking’, looking beyond recruitment towards the broader capabilities businesses need across permanent and flexible talent, outsourcing, workforce planning, market intelligence and advisory.
Earlier this year, that conversation came directly into the BCCJ community through an executive roundtable hosted with Robert Walters Japan, bringing more than 20 senior leaders together to consider Japan’s changing talent landscape, workforce shortages and the growing impact of AI on how organisations build their teams.
Robert Walters Japan also sponsored the UK Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, hosting two events that brought together business leaders to discuss challenges in navigating global uncertainty and new opportunities for connection through gaming.
For the BCCJ, this partnership also gives us an opportunity to celebrate the history already shared.
Robert Walters Japan was named Company of the Year at the British Business Awards in 2011, but its relationship with the BBA did not begin or end there. From sponsoring the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award in 2024 to having Jeremy Sampson, CEO North East Asia & Greater China, serve as a judge in 2025, the company has demonstrated its long-standing support for the Awards and the wider UK-Japan business community.
That makes this year’s Diamond Partnership feel less like a return and more a natural continuation.
