KEF、Generatorによる日英音楽パートナーシップを支援

2026年1月28日 - 英国発のプレミアム・オーディオ・ブランド ＜KEF（ケーイーエフ）＞ は、英国北部の音楽カルチャーを世界へ発信することを目的とした Generatorが日本と展開する新たな国際パートナーシップを支援することを発表いたします。本取り組みは、英国北部の才能をグローバルな音楽市場へとつなぐ重要なマイルストーンとなるものです。

本プログラムは、ティーズ・バレー地域連合および北東イングランド地域連合の支援のもと実施されるもので、世界有数の音楽市場である日本との連携を通じて、ロンドン一極集中からの転換を図り、新しい英国の音楽交流プログラムのあり方を提示することを目的としています。

Generator CEOであるミック・ロス氏の主導により、過去12か月以上にわたり、英国政府のビジネス・通商省（Department for Business and Trade）および英国レコード産業協会（British Phonographic Industry）主導のトレードミッションを通じて日本との関係構築が行われてきました。日本の音楽業界を代表する多くのキーパーソンとの対話を重ね、長期的かつ相互に価値を生み出すクリエイティブおよびビジネスのパートナーシップが築かれています。

この取り組みは、英国で初めて設立される、英国北部音楽輸出事務局（Northern Music Export Office）設立の基盤ともなるものであり、ウエスト・ヨークシャー、リバプール・シティ・リージョン、ティーズ・バレー、ノース・イーストの各自治体が連携するマルチオーソリティ・プロジェクトです。日本を含む重要市場とのクリエイティブ産業連携を強化するという、英国政府の方針とも強く合致しています。

英国北部から日本へ、新たな国際音楽交流のパスウェイ

2026年2月、Generatorは「Northern Music Exchange」という名のもと、日本において文化交流ミッションを実施します。本プログラムには、日本の音楽業界パートナーによって選出された、英国北部を拠点とする2名のクリエイターが参加します。

2026年2月6日から16日にかけて実施される本ミッションは、日英のアーティストおよびプロデューサーが集い、日本と英国の音楽のクロスオーバーを探求する3日間の文化的コラボレーションを福岡で行うことから始まります。

また、Fukuoka Music Cities Summitにも参加し、Generator CEO ミック・ロス氏、Generator Chair デイビッド・ヘイリー氏、そしてChad Rodgersが、音楽都市、輸出、クリエイティブ・インフラをテーマとした国際的な議論に登壇します。サミット期間中には、Loren Heatが日本人アーティスト 岩崎桃香 氏との新作コラボレーションの楽曲を披露する予定です。

その後、プログラムは東京へと移り、渋谷のTokyo ORDを起点に、招待制の2日間にわたる「UK × Japan Music Summit」を開催します。続いて、弊社直営店であるKEF Music Gallery Tokyoにて、パネルディスカッション、リスニングセッション、ディスカッションを実施予定です。本サミットはCUEWとの共同開催となり、日本を代表するレコードレーベル、業界出版社、プロモーター、そしてクリエイティブ業界のリーダーが一堂に会します。

KEF Supports Generator’s UK–Japan Music Partnership Connecting Northern England to the World

28 January 2026 - Premium British audio brand KEF has announced its support for a new international partnership led by Generator, an organisation dedicated to showcasing music culture from Northern England to the global stage. The initiative marks a significant milestone in connecting northern talent with international music markets, beginning with Japan.

Delivered with the backing of the Tees Valley Combined Authority and the North East Combined Authority, the programme aims to present a new model of UK music exchange beyond London-centric routes, strengthening creative collaboration with Japan, one of the world’s leading music markets.

Under the leadership of Generator CEO Mick Ross, relationships with Japan have been developed over more than twelve months through trade missions led by the UK Department for Business and Trade and the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Ongoing dialogue with key figures across Japan’s music sector has established long-term creative and commercial partnerships built on mutual value.

This initiative also forms the foundation for the UK’s first Northern Music Export Office, a multi-authority project involving West Yorkshire, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley and the North East. The programme aligns closely with UK Government policy to strengthen international creative industry partnerships in priority markets, including Japan.

A New Pathway for Music Exchange Between Northern England and Japan

In February 2026, Generator will deliver a cultural exchange mission in Japan under the banner Northern Music Exchange. Two Northern England-based creatives, selected by Japanese industry partners, will participate:

Queer pop artist based in Tees Valley

Producer based in North Tyneside

• Chad Rodgers

Running from 6–16 February 2026, the mission will begin in Fukuoka with a three-day creative collaboration bringing together UK and Japanese artists and producers to explore musical crossover between both countries.

The delegation will also take part in the Fukuoka Music Cities Summit, where Generator CEO Mick Ross, Generator Chair David Haley and Chad Rodgers will join international discussions on music cities, export strategy and creative infrastructure. During the summit, Loren Heat will premiere a new collaborative track created with Japanese artist Momoka Iwasaki.

The programme will then move to Tokyo, launching with an invitation-only two-day UK × Japan Music Summit at Tokyo ORD in Shibuya. This will be followed by panel discussions, listening sessions and industry dialogue at KEF Music Gallery Tokyo. Co-hosted with CUEW, the summit will bring together leading Japanese record labels, publishers, promoters and creative industry leaders.
