This note provides some information regarding Japanese Government Support to Companies. The information is provided to assist UK firms based in Japan. If you are a registered company based in Japan, paying into the national employer’s insurance scheme, you should be eligible.

 

These are Japanese Government schemes, so further information should be sought directly from the organisations below.

COVID-19 Support Packages [Summary]

i. ¥2m to corporations and ¥1m to sole proprietors, whose revenue falls by more than 50% in any month of 2020 from previous year
ii. Zero interest loans
iii. Deferment of tax and social security contributions
iv. Reduction or exemption of local property tax
v. Request to landlords to consider rent deferment
vi. Increased subsidy rates for employee leave
