VEGA STUDIO @HILTON TOKYO

British Chamber of Commerce in Japan members Hilton Tokyo and Vega Japan (part of Vega Global) have teamed up to offer new cutting-edge tech facilities designed to support in-person, hybrid, and online business events.

The new facilities, located at Hilton Tokyo, in Shinjuku, comprise a complete virtual production studio furnished with the highest-grade equipment and a one-of-a-kind curved LED wall in the Kiku Ballroom, the largest single screen in any hotel in the country. Both are fully supported by on-site experts from Vega Global’s Japan office who can provide services such as pre- and post-production, all carried out while event organizers are either abroad or in Japan.

Business event organizers can use the installations in a standalone capacity or in addition to other meeting spaces in Hilton Tokyo, for livestreaming and broadcasting, creating pre-recorded video, and attending meetings remotely.

The studio utilizes the latest game engine software and cinema-grade hardware, combined with specialized VR, XR, and spatial audio capabilities, allowing the creation of high-quality content. This content can be streamed simultaneously from the studio to the LED screen, thereby facilitating meetings that require breakout spaces such as panel discussions and workshops.

Combined with the expertise of Vega staff, Hilton Tokyo’s new facilities have the potential to transform interactions at business meetings and the way events and their content is produced.

Roger Brantsma, general manager of Hilton Tokyo, said: “We see great opportunities for the studio and LED wall beyond the pandemic especially with the rising cost of travel and many companies looking at their carbon footprint in line with their SDG goals.”

Richard Johns, managing director of Vega Japan, said: “We are excited to partner with Hilton Tokyo on this ground-breaking project. It will enable clients to experience how technology can transform the way they produce stunning and interactive in-person, streamed, and/or hybrid events.”

Leo Frankel, commercial director of Hilton Tokyo, said: “We are delighted to partner with Vega Japan on significant enhancements to our AV capabilities, making available world-class conferencing technology for our global clients here in Tokyo. The new LED wall allows clients to easily create high-impact presentations and, together with the virtual studio, we can offer competitively priced solutions for all levels of events, be they in person, hybrid, or fully online.”

Jimmy Heil, managing consultant of new media technology, Vega Japan, said: “Content creators, game developers, movie directors, and new media artists can benefit immensely from having these tools at their disposal in a rental location, to create their next generation of content. As professionals in both technology and creative artistry, Vega Global is uniquely positioned to support these clients in the comfort of the Hilton environment.”
