Fredrik Harfors Appointed General Manager of Park Hyatt Tokyo

TOKYO (April 10, 2023) – Park Hyatt Tokyo is pleased to announce the appointment of Fredrik Harfors as General Manager, effective April 11, 2023. In his new role, Harfors will oversee operations of the intimate 177-room hotel located in Shinjuku, the heart of Tokyo.

Fredrik Harfors brings 22 years of experience with Hyatt Hotels Corporation, including leadership at award-winning Hyatt hotels in Jakarta and Bangkok.

Born in Sweden, Harfors studied restaurant and hotel management at Washington State University and started his career at Hyatt Regency Chicago in 2001. In addition, he gained vast experience at Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt properties in Hong Kong, Sydney, Vietnam, and China.

In 2013, Harfors was appointed Hotel Manager of Grand Hyatt Jakarta. Under his excellent leadership, he helped the hotel win multiple prestigious accolades, including Best Hotel in Jakarta from DestinAsian Magazine and Best Business Hotel in Jakarta from Business Traveller each year of his 3-year tenure.

In 2016, he headed the pre-opening phase of Park Hyatt Bangkok as Hotel Manager before being appointed General Manager of Park Hyatt Jakarta from its pre-opening in 2017 until his move to Tokyo.

Harfors enjoys outdoor exercise, great food &wine, and spending time with his family in his free time.

Fredrik Harfors replaces Hervé Mazella, who has been General Manager of Park Hyatt Tokyo since March 2016.
