Congratulations to 2023 BCCJ Cup champions, Satya Osawa and Andrew Sipus

This year’s British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) Golf Day, the “2023 BCCJ Cup” was held at the Gold Tochigi President’s Country Club on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Organised by the BCCJ Golf Taskforce, the event welcomed 30 players from the BCCJ and wider network for a sunny, social day out on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course.

Against a very scenic autumnal landscape, there were fabulous prizes up for grabs, including return flights to Asahikawa from Jetstar and a bottle of Hentley Farm Côtes De Hentley 2018 provided by Colonial Wines.

After golfers played 18 holes in a Texas Scramble format, a new addition for this year, Richard Straughan (Director at Rosetta Stone Learning Center), head of the BCCJ Golf Taskforce opened the prize-giving ceremony.

Thank you to all the participants who attended the 2023 Annual BCCJ Golf tournament. We once again had exceptional weather and the course was in great condition (unlike my drives) and offered some stunning views. The club were their usual hospitable selves and helped the day go very smoothly. I would also like to thank all of the sponsors who donated some great prizes as the cherry on the cake. In addition, well done Noriko Hardi for her HOLE IN ONE! Hope to see you all again next year!

Our 2023 Winners

Congratulations to Satya Osawa and Andrew Sipus at Robert Half for storming to victory and claiming their place as our BCCJ Cup 2023 champions.

Their names will now be inscribed on the BCCJ Cup trophy plaque – unveiled in 2018 to mark the Chamber’s 70th birthday – along with golf day winners dating back to our first-ever golf tournament, held in 1951.
