Congratulations to 2022 BCCJ Cup champion, Hiroyuki Takahashi of RGF Executive Search Japan

This year’s British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) Golf Day, the “2022 BCCJ Cup” was held at the Gold Tochigi President’s Country Club on Friday, November 25 2022.
Organised by the BCCJ Golf Taskforce, the event welcomed around 50 players from the BCCJ and wider network including British Ambassador to Japan, Julia Longbottom CMG for a sunny, social day out on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course.
Against a very scenic autumnal landscape there were fabulous prizes up for grabs, including those donated by headline sponsors Jaguar Land Rover Japan, and Palace Hotel Tokyo.
After golfers played 18 holes, Richard Straughan (Director at Rosetta Stone Learning Center), stepping in as the new head of the BCCJ Golf Taskforce opened the prize-giving ceremony, saying it was a pleasure to be welcoming such a diverse group of players the tournament following 2-years of COVID postponements.
“Thank you everyone for attending the BCCJ golf on November 25th at, what I am sure you will all agree, was a stunning course and a great day out. I would like to thank Gold President themselves for making us so welcome, and providing impeccable organisation and even throwing in a golf bag as a prize. In addition, a big thanks to the sponsors and their prizes, which simply added to the event. It was fantastic to hold this event after the COVID hiatus and hopefully we can move forward stronger and better next year.”
Our 2022 Winners
Congratulations to Hiroyuki Takahashi, Principal Consultant for Professional Services at RGF Executive Search Japan, who was the overall 2022 BCCJ Cup winner.
Hiroyuki’s name will now be inscribed on the BCCJ Cup trophy – unveiled in 2018 to mark the Chamber’s 70th birthday – along with golf day winners dating back to our first-ever golf tournament, held in 1951.
Second place was taken by Jeremy Sampson, Managing Director at Robert Walters Japan, who won an original piece of artwork by Simon Dalby.
