Community and Business, Past Event Round Ups
Our 2018 British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ) Golf Day was held at the Gold Tochigi President’s Country Club on June 24 (Sunday) 2018.
Organised by the BCCJ Golf Taskforce, the event welcomed 68 players from the BCCJ and our wider network, with male and female players of all levels joining a sunny, social day out on the Jack Nicklaus-designed course.
Against a very scenic landscape there were fabulous prizes up for grabs, including weekends at luxury holiday resorts; fine dining vouchers; a luxury weekend car package, and even tickets for a 2019 Rugby World Cup game.
After golfers played 18 holes, Lori Henderson MBE, Executive Director of the BCCJ opened the prize-giving ceremony and said it was a pleasure to be welcoming so many new faces and old friends to the tournament.
BCCJ Executive Committee member, Iain Ferguson of Lloyds, said:
With over 30 prizes donated by our sponsors, our annual golf event has grown in size and significance over the years. Special mention should go to Jaguar Land Rover and ANA IHG who have provided prizes and support for several of our past golf events.
BCCJ Golf Taskforce leader, William Ramsay of Hynd, said:
At the end of the day, the event is as about putting on a great event for the players, and involving sponsors who are keen to contribute to the community. Once again, this year top prizes went to both male and female players, and it was also fun to welcome beginners and less competitive players. With a genuine commitment to equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion, we encourage people to get involved next year too!
Our 2018 Winner
Congratulations to Tim Paech, CEO of Pernod Ricard, who was our overall 2018 BCCJ Cup winner.
