British Business Awards 2025 - Now Open for Applications!
The British Business Awards (BBA) 2025 celebrate excellence, innovation, and impact across the UK-Japan business landscape.
Now, in the lead up to the highly-anticipated BBA 2025 Gala, to be held on the evening of 7 November at the Hilton Tokyo, we invite you to apply - or nominate a standout organisation - in one or more of the following categories, for a chance to be crowned one of our seven "BBA Winners":
Nominees for the Company of the Year award must demonstrate excellence and innovation throughout their organisation in Japan, with a focus on outstanding achievements in the past 12 months.
Company of the Year Application Form
Nominees for the Entrepreneur or SME of the Year Award must be individuals or companies who exemplify entrepreneurial spirit and have created commercial success in Japan over the past 12 months. Nominees will typically be leading non-listed organisations in Japan with 25 employees or fewer.
Entrepreneur or SME of the Year Application Form
Nominees for the UK-Japan Partnership of the Year Award must be joint ventures, alliances, or other cross-border partnerships that have made demonstrable contributions to strengthening the UK–Japan economic or commercial relationship over the past 12 months.
Each nomination must name two partner organisations:
- One British and one Japanese partner.
UK-Japan Partnership Application Form
Nominees for the New Market Entrant of the Year Award must be individuals or organisations that have launched meaningful operations in the Japanese market for the first time since 1 January 2024. This award celebrates bold and strategic market entry that demonstrates long-term vision, value creation, and potential for growth and innovation in Japan.
This may include (but is not limited to):
- Incorporating or registering a Japanese legal entity
- Forming a significant local partnership or joint venture
- Establishing a physical office, presence, or team
- Making a substantial investment in Japan-based operations or services
New Market Entrant of the Year Application Form
Nominees for the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award must have delivered exceptionally effective DEI initiatives in Japan over the past 12 months. This category recognises overall efforts to support inclusion, representation, and equity, especially in relation to underrepresented or vulnerable communities.

Nominees for the Responsible Business Award must have delivered exceptionally effective responsible business initiatives in Japan over the past 12 months. This category recognises overall sustainability efforts across environmental and social areas.
Responsible Business Application Form
Nominees for the Digital Technology and Innovation Award must have delivered exceptionally effective digital or technological innovation, services, or solutions in Japan within the past 12 months.
To apply, simply select the category you wish to apply for and complete all criteria on the application form. Once submitted please send a high resolution company logo to [email protected].
