Did you know that geopolitical risks cost the global economy over $600 billion annually in lost trade and investment? Understanding these risks has never been more critical for businesses operating internationally.

Join us for an exclusive seminar with Andrew McDougall, Managing Director and Global Head of Geopolitical Risk at Barclays. With extensive experience in the UK Foreign Office and the UK Army, Andrew offers expert analysis on the most pressing global geopolitical challenges and their implications for businesses.

As the practice of “business as usual” becomes less and less applicable to the modern era, Andrew will provide a comprehensive overview of key developments and risks shaping the world today. From shifting alliances to emerging markets, this session will help you navigate the complexities of global risk and identify potential opportunities for your business.

This is a unique opportunity to gain insights from one of the world’s foremost experts on geopolitical risk during his visit to Tokyo, over a plated breakfast at the Tokyo EDITION Toranomon—don’t miss it!

Andrew McDougall is Head of Geopolitical Risk for Barclays. He joined Barclays from the UK Foreign Office, where he gained extensive experience working on some of the most important global issues over the past two decades. His particular expertise is Europe, Russia, and China, but he has also worked closely on Iran and South Asia (India/Pakistan/Afghanistan) earlier in his career.

Andrew’s final posting was in Brussels (Political Counsellor in the UK Mission to the EU and NATO) but he has also served in Switzerland, India, and the Middle East. As Lt Colonel in the British Army officer he served in Northern Ireland, the Balkans, and Iraq before joining the Foreign Office.
