Join us at the Fabric office for an engaging series of workshops aimed at exploring innovative approaches to sustainability. Whether you’re a seasoned sustainability professional or just starting your journey, these workshops offer valuable insights and practical tools to drive positive change.

Each workshop will offer attendees a unique perspective on sustainability, fostering creativity and practical understanding. Participants are encouraged to engage actively during the interactive sessions to maximise learning outcomes. Networking prior and post each workshop provides opportunities for further discussion and collaboration.

 

Workshop 1: Sustainability in Japan & what is regenerative business?

We will delve into the concept of ‘regenerative business’ and its distinctions from sustainability in practice. We will provide a comprehensive overview of Fabric’s extensive collection of Sustainability in Japan data and reports. Attendees will gain valuable insights into the current landscape of sustainability in Japan, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.

 

SPEAKERS

Tomoko Saigan

Tomoko is a Sustainability Strategist at Fabric, committed to assisting businesses in uncovering their core mission and navigating the critical transition towards operating within planetary boundaries while fostering positive impacts. Previously she worked at Kantar Japan delivering global companies consumer insights through qualitative research. Tomoko specializes in crafting and executing consumer research tailored to meet the specific business objectives of clients. She excels in distilling research findings inxto actionable insights that drive client success, with her project portfolio spanning a diverse range from promoting innovation to improving communication, employing various methods such as ideation workshops and field visits. With an MSc in Sustainability Transformation from ESSEC in France, Tomoko has a comprehensive understanding of sustainability in the business realm, with a specialization in circular economy. Driven by a deep passion for collaboration, optimism, and experience spanning three continents—Japan, the United States, and France—she thrives in diverse work environments. Tomoko leverages her experience in human insights and sustainability knowledge to drive meaningful and positive change.

 

Hasumi Nemani

Hasumi is a Sustainability Strategist at Fabric, providing specialised support for clients to develop strategies for implementing environmentally sustainable and socially conscious business practices across all organisational levels. Hasumi has worked in the field of rural revitalisation, specifically in the agriculture sector in Oita prefecture. As the Food Systems Lead at FoundingBase, Hasumi was involved in everything from product development, to community coordination, and business management.She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Waseda University, Japan, and a Masters of Arts (International Development), specialising in Sustainable Development, from the Graduate Institute of International and Developmental Studies, Geneva, Switzerland.Hasumi’s mission in life is, through innovation, realise a regenerative food system that benefits all players; starting from farmers to consumers.

 

Dr. Stefanie Di Russo

Stefanie is a Strategic Design Director at Fabric, drawing on 12 years of experience in solving complex business problems using a design-led approach. Over the course of her career, Stefanie has worked at the intersection of design, business, brand, strategy, tech, and human behavior. Prior to joining Fabric, Stefanie was responsible for leading organizational transformation on design thinking capability for 7-Eleven Australia; building, empowering and applying design practice to ignite enterprise innovation. Stefanie’s career has also enabled her to work for companies such as NAB (Head of Consumer Experience Design) and Deloitte (Design Strategy), as well as in the banking & finance, telco, government, retail and utilities sectors. Stefanie is an expert in the field of design thinking, holding a Doctor of Philosophy focusing on design thinking in complex practice. Stefanie also holds a Masters in Sustainable Design and is an alumna of the Stanford Executive Program. She has a passion for education and has spent the last 8 years teaching into undergraduate and masters courses in design, brand & CX, product, strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation across various universities in Australia.
