Christian Sealey

Christian is the Chief Executive Officer of Morrow Sodali, International, the region’s leading provider of shareholder engagement support and corporate governance advisory services. A seasoned investor relations and corporate affairs specialist, Christian is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm with a strong focus on client service and the provision of strategic advice to public company boards and management.

Christian has a deep understanding of global capital markets as well as extensive experience in contested situations, equity and debt tender offers, and other complicated transactions. He is well versed in ESG and regularly presents on industry panels and advises boards of directors on a variety of issues. He is a member of Morrow Sodali’s Executive Committee, responsible for company strategy, business development and all client related matters.

Melanie Brock

Highlights of Melanie’s 30 plus years in Japan include leading nationwide marketing campaigns, a successful bilateral free trade agreement and architect of regional Japan CSR activities. Melanie is currently engaged by several companies as Senior Advisor including Tanarra and Pollination Group. She uniquely combines language skills, high level political, media and business networks, and practical commercial business leadership.

She is on the board of several Japanese listed companies including Sega Sammy Holdings (2019), Mitsubishi Estate (2022), Kawasaki Heavy Industries (2023O) and Asahi Group Holdings (2024). Melanie has been a member of the Australia-Japan Research Centre Advisory Board since July 2019 and an Advance Global Ambassador since October 2019. The Japan Australian Business Cooperation Committee asked her to join the steering committee in November 2023.

Makiko Hamabe

Makiko Hamabe is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in investor relations (IR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) consulting. As the Representative of Makiko Hamabe Office, she provides shareholder-oriented supervision and advice, drawing on her extensive management experience and years of dialogue with stock market players.

Makiko serves as an Independent Outside Director at Otsuka Corporation and as an Audit & Supervisory Board Member at McDonald’s Holdings Company (Japan) Ltd. Additionally, she holds the position of Senior Advisor at Morrow Sodali Japan GK.

She is also an accomplished author, having penned several works on investor relations and dialogue with shareholders. Her publications include “Basics of Investor Relations” (published by Nihon Jitsugyo Shuppan-sha in December 2023), “Dialogue with Shareholders Guidebook” (published by Chuo-keizai-sha in March 2023), and “Yahoo! JAPAN – Dialogue with Stock Market” (published by Tokuma Shoten in 2018).

Heather has over 15 years of impactful experience in the Asia-Pacific financial services and sustainability sectors. Having worked in Tokyo and Hong Kong, she has a strong track record of significant contributions to business development, advisory, strategy, fundraising, and investor relations.

Heather started her position as Managing Director, Head of Sustainability at Morrow Sodali Japan in January 2024 after playing a crucial role in launching and growing the Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team at EY Japan from 2015 onwards. She excels in navigating Japanese companies towards ESG risk mitigation, driving sustainable initiatives, and harmonising environmental responsibility with corporate growth.

Originally from the United States, Heather embarked on her career in venture capital in Silicon Valley, before moving to Japan in 2001. As a committed community leader, her contributions include board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ), leading the ACCJ Sustainability Committee, and is currently an Executive Committee member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ).

Heather has earned the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
