BCCJ Covid-19 Event Guidelines

The BCCJ is committed to providing a high-value events and networking platform in a safe and secure environment for all members and staff involved. The health of our community is paramount, and we are moving with great caution and consideration, adhering to directives provided by the Government of Japan and leading medical bodies.

With the interest of our community in mind, the BCCJ will strive to continue bringing topical content and exceptional speakers to members through the delivery of events, while complying to the following guidelines, as updated on February 3, 2022.

| Under a State of Emergency declaration

  • All in-person events and meetings will be cancelled or postponed
  • All members will receive a full refund for any bookings made for cancelled events
  • The BCCJ will move to a 100% virtual events calendar

| Under a Quasi-Emergency declaration

The hosting of in-person events will be determined on a case-by-case basis, in response to the rapidly changing health situation.

Should in-person events take place, the BCCJ team will work closely with venues on implementing rigid health and safety protocols. Additionally, these events will:

    • have an option for members to attend online
    • be limited to 50% venue capacity
    • have enforced social distancing and the wearing of masks

All members will receive a full refund for any bookings made for cancelled events, or should they wish to join online instead.

When Tokyo is not under a State of Emergency or Quasi-State of Emergency, the BCCJ will continue to work closely with venues on implementing the necessary health and safety protocols for in-person events, including temperatures checks on arrival and hand-sanitising stations throughout, in order to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

Any guests who do not comply with the health and safety guidance as listed on the event’s booking page will be asked to leave the venue. Thank you for your understanding, and should you have any questions or concerns about the BCCJ’s COVID-19 Events Policy, please contact the BCCJ team anytime at [email protected].
