Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Working Group Meeting

This session will provide BCCJ members with an opportunity to explore both the challenges and actionable strategies for creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces, and give members the chance to lead discussions on what the Chamber should prioritise in its DEI efforts moving forward (including leading events and DEI initiatives).

Join us for our second BCCJ Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Working Group meeting, where we will continue our important discussions on advancing DEI initiatives within the UK-Japan business community. This session will provide BCCJ members with an opportunity to explore both the challenges and actionable strategies for creating more inclusive and equitable workplaces, and give members the chance to lead discussions on what the Chamber should prioritise in its DEI efforts moving forward (including leading events and DEI initiatives).
We encourage members who are passionate about DEI, HR professionals, business leaders, and anyone responsible for shaping corporate culture to join us. Whether or not you attended the first meeting, your perspective and contributions are welcome, as we work together to build a more inclusive future for businesses in Japan. Access details will reach attendees ahead of the meeting.

About BCCJ Working Groups:
The BCCJ Working Groups (WG) are member-driven forums designed to provide a space for members and guests of the chamber with an interest in a particular practice or industry to engage like-minded individuals, forge valuable connections and allow members to collaborate on impactful projects that drive business interests forward. They will equip members with new knowledge and insights, valuable resources and fresh inspiration, as well as an opportunity to take an active role in BCCJ events and initiatives, and lead in key focus areas.
WG meetings will be held throughout the year, open to all BCCJ members and guests of members with in an interest in the area.

The BCCJ is committed to advancing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), and this runs through everything we do. DEI is embedded in our Governance and operations, recruitment of people, elections for our Executive Committee (Excom) and our choice of suppliers. This Working Group will welcome members who share our passion for advancing DEI initiatives, with the goal of exploring how we can further promote a greater understanding of and develop support mechanisms for the growth of diverse groups in the workplace in Japan. These groups include but are not limited to: Cognitive Diversity, Generation Y / Millennials, LGBTQ+ community, People with disabilities, Race / Nationality / Ethnicity, and Women.
