The first-ever G7 Chamber networking event in Kansai, led by the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ), took place on October 8, marking a significant milestone for the BCCJ and the broader G7 business community as it laid the groundwork for enhanced collaboration and engagement in the region ahead of World Expo 2025. The event provided a unique opportunity for G7 business leaders to connect, exchange ideas, and explore collaboration opportunities in this vibrant part of Japan.

Over 120 attendees, both seasoned professionals already involved in the Kansai region or newcomers eager to explore its possibilities, engaged in lively discussions about their plans for the upcoming Expo, sharing insights on its potential impact on global industries.

During the trip, the BCCJ President and Executive Director had the opportunity to explore the Expo site, which is currently under construction. They participated in an insightful conference hosted by the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, engaging in meaningful discussions about plans for the year ahead. Following this, they met with local government officials and representatives from the British Consulate in Osaka, further strengthening the ties between the BCCJ and key stakeholders in the region.

The success of the inaugural G7 Networking event in Kansai sets a promising precedent for future gatherings, reinforcing the BCCJ’s commitment to fostering connections and collaboration both within the G7 business community and across Japan. As Kansai continues to gear up for Expo 2025, and what promises to be a global stage for innovation and collaboration, we look forward to seeing the exciting developments that will emerge from these valuable connections.
