A message from The Redwood Group:
The Redwood Group (Redwood) is a specialized logistics investment firm with in-depth knowledge and experience that includes in-house real estate development, leasing, funds management and asset management utilizing local teams in China, Japan and Singapore.
Redwood’s founders, Charles de Portes and Stuart Gibson, pioneered international institutional investment into this asset class in Asia in 1998 with the development of the first build-to-suit distribution hub for DHL, and the creation of the first private equity fund dedicated to Asian logistics real estate in 2002. Redwood’s team has executed some of the highest quality distribution and logistics real estate developments and investments in the markets with greatest demand within China and Japan for numerous multinational clients.
Redwood has multiple strategic relations and funds with major institutional investors globally. In 2013 we formed a strategic partnership with the international investment firm founded and chaired by Sam Zell, Equity International.
Redwood held the final closing on its Japan Logistics real estate fund in Q3 of last year and is moving on to new capital raises now in line with new projects during 2015.
In China we have had multiple expansions of our Redwood China Logistics Fund since the first closing in 2012 with PGGM (also our anchor investor in our Japan logistics fund) to keep pace with the development pipeline where we operate across all Tier 1 and several Tier 2 markets.
We have roughly two dozens of compelling projects underway in Japan and China, representing over US$2billion of investment. In Guangzhou, China we recently completed a Build-to-Suit project with Daimler.
Domestic consumption and e-commerce continue to drive demand for modern logistics facilities. Redwood’s high-quality facilities and strategic locations enable customers to deliver the highest levels of service and logistics efficiency.
