On July 5, BCCJ members, friends and families joined “Nihonbashi Street Rugby”, which saw Sakura Dori, one of Tokyo’s busiest streets, transformed into pitches where adults and children could play short games of Street Rugby.

Over 150 players from around ten different countries participated in the event, with international stalls, including the UK Pavilion, bringing a global flavour to the Nihombashi Plaza area, just a four minute walk from Tokyo station.

The BCCJ supported this inaugural tournament, which was organised by The Nihonbashi Neighborhood Association & Chuo Rugby Football Union, to help promote Tokyo’s hosting of the 2019 Rugby World Cup and the 2020 Olympic & Paralympic Games.

Thanks to BCCJ members Robert Walters, VisitBritain, BrewDog Japan, JAC Recruitment, Deloitte, Mazars, and Jaguar Land Rover, for their support and participation.
