The Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games has unveiled its original merchandise designed with the new Olympic emblems.

The lineup includes T-shirts, polo shirts, towels and key-holders emblazoned with the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and Paralympics emblems.

“I feel we have finally started to get this thing rolling,” said Asao Tokoro, the 47-year-old designer of the official logos. “I am overwhelmed with emotion.”

The first designs for the logos, which were created by a different artist, were scrapped by the organizing committee after a controversy over their provenance.

The 2020 Olympic and Paralympic gear can be found at sporting goods stores, shops at Tokyo metropolitan government buildings and at the official online store for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics and Paralympics. The goods were so popular that they sold out on the first day, but have been restocked since.

Five percent of the sales revenues will be paid to the committee as a licensing fee.

The committee hopes to raise 12.3 billion yen ($120 million) in revenue over the next four years from Olympic and Paralympic goods by creating products that use traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
