2017 BCCJ Golf Day

On Saturday 3 June 2017, a record turnout of BCCJ members and guests participated in the annual BCCJ golf tournament for an active day out at the Gold Tochigi President’s Country Club, organised by the BCCJ Golf Taskforce.

Sixty-eight players of various ages and levels were assigned to teams of four and played 9 holes in the morning followed by another 9 in the afternoon. The warm weather and sunshine as well as the stunning scenery on the Jack Nicklaus designed course made the day particularly enjoyable. This year saw particularly high scores no doubt partly due to the superb array of luxury prizes from our generous sponsors and thanks to the superb course conditions.

After relaxing in the hot bath and freshening up, all the players gathered for food and well deserved cold beers at the after party where the scores were announced and a selection of luxurious prizes were presented to the best players. 35 prizes donated by major corporations and many small, privately owned member businesses were given away including prizes for the 28 leading players.

Congratulations to winner and BCCJ Champion Hiroshi Fujita and to runner-up Simon Parkhill (best gross men – Simon Parkhill 72, best gross ladies – Naoko Sumida 78)

The day, bringing together BCCJ members and guests from other business and social circles, was a great success in a fun and relaxed competition setting. We look forward to seeing players return next year!
