We all know that the body speaks, but what is its language and how can we get better at using it? In this session, Tania Coke (artistic director of Tarinainanika Corporeal Mime Theatre Company) will give you a crash course in corporeal expression. The aim is to make you more aware of the role of the body in communication, and the power you have to express yourself and relate to others in any situation.

TANIA COKE
RSA Ambassador, Japan

“communication in three dimension”

Tania is an actor and director specialising in the art of Corporeal Mime. Together with her husband Kentaro Suyama she runs tarinainanika theatre company and the Corporeal Mime School of Performing Arts. They have performed across Japan and Europe and taught Corporeal Mime to artists, bankers, IT engineers, university professors, high school students and more. They are based at the Flying Carpet Factory in Osaka, an old carpet warehouse which they have renovated into a venue for teaching, creating, performing and collaborating. Beyond mime, Tania explores her fascination with human expression in other ways. She is a qualified mediator and conflict management consultant and gives communication and leadership training for corporates, having begun her career as a management consultant. Tania has been a Fellow of the RSA since 2003 and currently serves as RSA Ambassador in Japan.
