BCCJ members offer trade policy and market access views at Virtual Roundtables

t

On November 10, the BCCJ was pleased to co-host two Virtual Roundtables, led by the Director for Trade and Investment Japan at the British Embassy Tokyo, Darren Goff. The sessions involved discussion around the current Japanese business environment for British firms, opportunities for growth, and current regulatory barriers – in particular for companies in the financial services, professional services and consultancy sectors.

From next month, the UK and Japanese Governments will launch a series of committees to drive forth the implementation of the bilateral FTA signed in October 2020. The above Virtual Roundtables were an opportunity for BCCJ members to present and discuss concrete examples of the market issues affecting them and other British companies in Japan, and consider how to lobby for change.

The BCCJ calls upon all members to offer opinions and help shape British-Japanese trade policy for 2022 and beyond.
